BABY & CHILD IMMUNIZATION DESCREPTION

Vaccines provide children with the best defense against such childhood diseases as polio, measles, mumps, rubella (German measles), pertussis (whooping cough), diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw) and chicken pox. The chart below outlines the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended schedule for immunization. the academy also recommends that all these vaccines be delivered by injection.

Polio Oral doses, start a one month, 5 doses at 4-8 weeks interval DPT Child usually develops moderate fever after the vaccination. Crocin drops with tepid sponging can be given to the child. Swelling around the injection site is common. Heat fomentation helps reduce the swelling. Children may cry excessively. It so, contacts your pediatrician immediately.
