To determine the value of the AFI, the obstetrician will use ultrasound by certain calculations to get the number of AFI.

What is Amniotic Fluid?

Amniotic fluid is a liquid that serves to protect a woman's womb during the pregnancy. If this is too much fluid (Polyhydramnios), it is potentially harmful to infants who are in the womb, therefore a doctor may recommend surgery section.
