HERPES WHILE PREGNANCY AND FOR BABY
Herpes infections at newborn baby are not so many case happen, but they can
be life threatening. If the baby comes out and have direct contact with herpes
on the way through the birth canal, sometimes the herpes could be transmitted

What is Genital Herpes?
Genital herpes is sexual transmitted disease problem. The sign can also include
the painful sores at the area of genital, itching, painful urination, vaginal
discharge and tender lumps at the groin. At the first sign, some people will
have fever, aches and also having flu. Many people who having the infection
of herpes will have sores outbreaks and symptoms from time to time. It also
found that some women have herpes infection only at the cervix. If this is happen,
there may be few or maybe no sign with an outbreak.
In United States, about 25% adults are infected by genital herpes. This herpes
virus is can not cure. The mother who have an active genital herpes infection
at or near the labor can give changes to infect the baby with herpes. This problem
can be serious and also can have fatal for the newborn baby.
The doctor will give advice to deliver your baby with cesarean section or abdominal
delivery if you have sign of herpes when you start to labor. The cesarean section
will protect the baby from exposure the large quantities of herpes virus at
maybe present at the birth canal or at the skin while a herpes outbreak.
Herpes Simplex Virus on Pregnancy Woman
Herpes Simplex Virus is a virus who can cause the Getital Herpes. Some woman
who have been contagious by this virus will developed the antibodies from this
virus, but may not have had a genital herpes outbreak. The immune system at
the pregnancy woman becomes less effective and these woman could get a first
outbreak. This kind of outbreak carries same risk as recurrent infection for
the baby, give less risk of neonataol disease with primary infection. Many woman
who infected with herpes simplex virus will have recurrence while pregnancy.
If the pregnancy woman previously have infected by Herpes Simplex Virus, than
these woman will have average 3 recurrences while pregnancy.
If your partner has genital herpes while you as become pregnant woman do not
have herpes, it is very recommed to use condom every have intercourse throughout
your pregnancy. At the last trimester, the doctor will give advice to abstain
from make love, because this is most dangerous time to first episode infection
development. Both of you could have some specific type of blood test to tell
you whether you or your partner having herpes virus infected. If the pregnancy
woman infected at the first trimester, than vaginal delivery could be still
possible.
