PARENT ACTION FOR BABY ACNE
New born baby usually have very soft and tender body skin, but some baby born
with some kind of rashes. The baby face will appear with kind of red bumps.
If this is happen to baby - this call as baby acne -, this is normal and common
happen with newborn condition. The baby acne may appear start when the first
day baby birth, but the acne also usually apeear at 3 or 4 weeks after the baby
born, this problem will continue appear until the baby age is about 4 until
6 months old.
What is the cause of Baby Acne?
There are some problem that can generate the cause of baby acne. Such as cause
with hormones that baby take when pregnancy time, or through breast milk which
drink by the baby. Baby body is not ready to produce the hormones that cause
the acne, but mother does. That's why if the baby acne cause by mother hormones,
if mother already stop the breastfeeding and nothing transfer between mother
to baby again, than the acne at baby will disappear.
Sign of Baby Acne
- Red bumps predominantly on the cheeks, quite common on the chin and forehead
also.
- Baby acne will be at its peak when the baby's skin is irritated, or when
the baby is hot or fussy.
- If the baby's skin becomes wet from spit-up, saliva or milk, the comdition
may appear worse for several days.
How to Prevent and Treat Baby Acne?
Since we know that the baby acne is common and normal when appear at baby,
so we don't have to worry about it, also that is also not easy to prevent the
baby acne. Because the baby acne will disappear by itself after the baby older
than 6 months old. At this age, the oild glands at baby face will disappear,
than the acne will not appear anymore.
There is no special treatment that need to treat the baby ance. You can leave
the acne appear until it will stop and disappear by itself. The baby skin is
sensitive, if we start to give some medicine or vigorous washing, this could
make the baby skin irritate. Give the oil and lotion also will not help to stop
the baby acne. But you can give soft and tender cleaning the baby face with
gentle cleanser once a day.
