CESAREAN SURGERY REASON FOR PREGNANCY WOMAN
As we all know that the birth of new born baby not always proceed such as what
we expected. Some of complications could increase bad consequence that require
the decisions for the process of baby come with cesarean surgery birth. This
information could give all information about Cesarean Delivery.
Cesarean Delivery (C-Section) is medical procedure of birth by surgery to remove
(pick up) the baby from the mother. This process is delivery the baby through
some cut at the mother abdomen and another in the uterus. Usually this process
is more expensive than normal vaginal delivery, also sometime more painful.
This section of Cesarean requires more time for recovery than normal vaginal
delivery. The surgery of cesarean delivery involves a degree of risk and is
really need to performed if the health and welfare of the mother and infant
are jeopardized.
What is the sign for mother to take Cesarean Birth :
- Cephalopelvic Disproportion (CPD). The baby’s head
is too big to fit through the mother’s pelvis.
- Fetal Distress. The baby cannot tolerate the forces of
labor or intrauterine environment.
- Abnormal Presentations. The position of the baby prevents
safe passage through the pelvis and birth canal.
- Breech Presentations. The bottom or feet are the presenting
part of the baby.
- Placenta Previa. The placenta is positioned over the opening
of the uterus.
- Abruptio Placentae. The placenta prematurely separates
from the uterine wall.
- Cord Compression. The cord is pinched or has fallen between
the baby and the pelvis.
- Maternal Complications. Any serious medical condition that
jeopardizes the mother and baby.
Cesarean delivery sometime choose by some mother becayse of an earlier &
difficult vaginal delivery, or already have previous c-section, or concern about
fetal brain damage during the labor or trauma to the pelvic floor. So even they
know about the risk of c-section, the some of woman could have the right and
also the power to request a c-section. But c-sections do not necessarily spare
laboring mothers from episiotomies, prolonged labor, or instrumental delivery,
and also consider the risks associated with c-sections. The baby also have potential
risk of premature birth, this is happen if the conception date was miscalculated
and the surgery of cesarean delivery scheduled too early, low APGAR scores,
fetal injury, breathing problems, and depressed activity due to absorption of
the anesthesia.
Some risks for the mothers health are infections in the uterus, blood loss
more than vaginal birth, decreased bowel function in days following delivery,
and blood clots in mothers legs, pelvic organs, and lungs. The time at hospital
stay is also longer than normal vaginal delivery, usually take about 5 days
at hospital, and for the recovery time takes about 4 until 6 weeks.
How to avoid Cesarean Delivery?
Some of the pregnancy complications give you no other option then take C-Section,
at this situation, the c-section done for the safety of mother and the new born
baby. The cause of complication could be source by so many problem. You just
have to relax and have a positive thinking that you can deliver the baby with
normal vaginal delivery. The doctor could give the best reason why you have
to take it or not.
While in labor, try to avoid lying on your back. The pregnant uterus exerts
about forty pounds of pressure, which can interfere with blood flow to the uterus
& the baby. Usually when mother is laying on her back, the contractions
are further apart, less effective, and also more uncomfortable. Alternatives
to the laying position include walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, rocking,
and kneeling on hands and knees.
Always try to take advantage of the time between contractions to rest. Use
your relaxation techniques to decrease tension. Effective ways to reduce pain
include massage, counter pressure, hot and cold water compresses, positioning,
imagery, music, warm showers, hot tubs, and medications. IF you do have to remain
in bed, raise the head of the bed by 20 degrees. Change your position every
15 minutes. Move from side to side. Sit with your legs crossed. Rock gently
backwards and forwards while on your hands and knees.
If possible, avoid using epidural anesthesia. Epidural anesthesia can make
slow down labor. Because of the numbing sensation caused by the epidural, you
will be unable to walk which this is use the gravity to help labor progress.
If the epidural slows labor, your doctor may use the drug Pitocin to promote
the contractions. Pitocin enhances the strength and length of the contractions,
which can lead to a deceleration in the baby’s heart rate. This slowing
of the heart rate may prompt the physician to perform Cesarean birth. With the
epidural, many women cannot feel to push effectively, thus prolonging labor,
which can also lead to Cesarean birth.
Some opinion said, than the cesarean delivery could destroy the natural process
of bonding moment for the mother and child. But, if the cesarean delivery is
for the safety of mother or the baby, then this option is a must.
